In Canada, the traffic, pollution, and expense of maintaining a car have led many to trade in their cars for bicycles. Because they feel they are doing something good for themselves and the environment, Canadians cherish their bicycles. A Canadian commuter will spend anywhere from $300-1000 (2000-6500 Yuan) on a bike and will consider it an investment in lifestyle. They will repair them, oil them regularly, even give them names and decorate them with flowers. There are bicycle clubs to join, political events done on bikes, cycling musical groups, bicycle cafes, and bicycle art - a veritable cycling culture.
