《老外在中国》：在中国飞车

Nonetheless, the long-awaited day arrived and I unleashed my mad creation onto the Capital's streets. As a left-handed non-Asian foreigner, I have become patently accustomed to having my habits, clothes, words, and mannerisms scrutinized by those around me. Yet, besides my dashing good looks, nothing turns more heads than my Flying Pigeon. Chuckles and chortles abound as it silently slinks through the melee with its massively wide handlebars, fenders attached with bolts, seat at a comfortable height, fully inflated tires, all maneuvered by a smiling Lao Wai with his hair blowing in the breeze; it's a brave new world of cycling in the Mecca of bicycles.

尽管如此，改装车子的那段漫长等待期一结束，我就将疯狂的创造力都释放在了首都的大街上。作为一名左撇子的洋人，我已经很习惯自己的一举一动都很引人注意了，包括我的举止、服饰、言谈及一些小怪癖。但是，在我这些所有的光鲜外表中，最引人侧目的还是要数我的飞鸽。当我的飞鸽飞驰而过时，人们看到它魁梧宽大的把手，装饰着大螺丝的挡泥板，调试到一个舒服高度的车座，鼓足了气的大轮胎，还有车座上那个头发迎风飞舞的满面笑容的老外时，大家都冲我微笑了。这是在自行车“圣地”里骑车的勇敢新突破。
